June 1st is the first day of winter, an occasion celebrated at Falls Creek with the annual Ice Plunge into Rocky Valley Dam. The event is a charity fundraiser for the local SES and will be held on Monday June 1st at 10am. Everyone who 'takes the plunge' (and gets totally wet) will receive a free T-shirt.

work party 2009 - accomplishments
Major projects
- new rubber matting for the entrance
- a new ski locker
- a new plasma TV and furniture in the Games room, allowing the old TV room to become a ‘Quiet TV Viewing Room’
- rooms 13 and 14 repainted
- a new pool gate in the spa room
- a new storage unit in the upstairs mezzanine
- hanging hooks in all rooms
Behind the scenes
- new emergency exit lights will be installed prior to Queen's Birthday opening
- a load of wood was split from wood collected on site
- new spa filter installed
- many other cleaning, maintenance and stocktaking tasks

work party 2009 - not what it looks like ...
Not an H1N1 influenza quarantine cell or a holding pen for recalcitrant members, but a new 'super-sized' ski & board locker being installed at the Work Party weekend.
